Team History

Counter Logic Gaming is one of the oldest teams in the League of Legends competitive scene. Beginning as a small group of friends with a passion for the game, they went on to win WCG 2010, one of the largest tournaments at the time. Since then, CLG has struggled to make it back to the top of offline events. Increasing internal struggles between some of the team's stars led to several lineup and role changes, with strong players such as Cody "Elementz" Sigfusson, Brandon "Saintvicious" DiMarco, Joedat "Voyboy" Esfahani, and Choi "Locodoco" Yoon-sub passing through their ranks and on to other top teams.

During the Spring Split CLG continued to move players between roles, picking up Zaqueri "Aphromoo" Black as Support from his former role as AD Carry on multiple teams including CLG's former B team (CLG Black) and Team FeaR (now Team Vulcun). Rounding out the end of the season, the team announced retirement of long-time Top Laner George "HotshotGG" Georgallidis to be replaced by Zach "Nientonsoh" Malhas, former member of Team MRN. With multiple players transitioning into roles they have not professionally played in the past, the strength of CLG moving into the Summer Split remains to be seen.
