Curse

Curse

Despite strong performances throughout much of Season 2, Curse’s run ended one game short from qualifying for the World Championship. But the hyper-competitive Curse players, bolstered by the addition of Voyboy in the top lane, rallied strongly as a team. Rolling through the competition at the North American Qualifier to secure their spot in the LCS, Curse is out for revenge.

Curse Matches

Team History

Curse’s roster has fluctuated wildly and rapidly since its inception. Their Mid Lane, NyJacky, is the only remaining member of the original lineup. The roster didn’t stabilize until Saintvicious was picked up during the middle of Season 2.

Curse's performance in Season 2 ended with mixed results. Despite many sparks of brilliance and some truly fantastic victories, Curse was never able to convert their success into a tournament win. Regardless, many considered them the best candidates to break the power of the long-standing top three veteran NA teams. While several tournaments occurred in which Curse initially appeared poised to win, small mistakes ultimately doomed each hope. The team would also come up short of qualifying for the World Championships by one game, losing to CLG in the 3rd place match at the Season 2 NA Regional Finals.

Many asserted that Curse was on the cusp of greatness, and it would only take one minor change to catalyze their success. From Curse’s recent performances, it appears that change came in the form of one final roster move. After being released from CLG, Curse acquired Top Lane veteran Voyboy to become their new starter. With this new line-up Curse slaughtered their way through the NA Qualifier, not losing a single game. Curse has never been afraid to make changes when something wasn’t working, and we’ll see if their team building strategies have finally paid off as they battle in the LCS this year.
