Millenium | LoL Esports

Founded: June, 2011

Nationality: France

After barely avoiding relegation at the end of Season 3, Millenium’s 2014 spring split landed them in dire straits. Falling to the bottom of the pile, Millenium went to relegation, and, though they requalified, they have a long climb ahead of them in the 2014 summer split.

Team History

Millenium debuted as Team ALTERNATE in the EU LCS last summer split and took the league by storm. They opened with a 5-0 record in Super Week and appeared to be unstoppable, but they fell into a long slump, ending the split with just 8 wins over the next 9 weeks (13-15 overall). On the brink of failing to even make the playoffs (and thus being dropped to relegation matches), Millenium pieced together a gutsy performance to hold off SK Gaming in a tiebreaker match.

Gamescom 2013 was very similar as Millenium barely escaped a Ninjas in Pyjamas team in the 5th place match. Relieved, the team took a long break during the 2014 preseason and it paid off. After a convincing victory against Counter Logic Gaming at the Battle of the Atlantic, Millenium looked promising coming into the 2014 spring split. Their performance was middle of the road the entire season, and by the end, they had fallen into relegation. Defeating NiP in a nailbiter series 3:2, Millenium retained their spot in the LCS.

With the summer split in their sights, Millenium will need to clean up their approach to the LCS in order to have any chance at a top finish and a shot at Worlds.
